Dover Knolls Project Remains in Limbo For Now

In a brief announcement, Dover Town Supervisor Jill Way addressed questions from townspeople regarding the status of the Dover Knolls town center development.
The project has been in limbo since the original plans presented by John Saccardi and the Dover Knolls Development Company, which called for the construction of homes before a retail center and a nine-hole golf course rather than an 18-hole course, were rejected by the town.
"I talked to John Saccardi and he informed me that they were several weeks away from submitting something to us," Way announced.
Once the developers have a new plan in place, they will resubmit that to the town and hold another public hearing, in order to present the idea to the people.
Way and the board have expressed their wishes to have a retail center constructed first and to have an 18-hole public golf course built.
